I have known Dr Kamran Ali for more than 3 years now . He treated my father at Fortis Vasant Kunj. My father was suffering from adenocarcinoma stage 4 (Lung Cancer) . We were advised to go for the surgery to drain out the plural effusion and small lesions had to be taken out for biopsy. It was a high risk surgery and I wasn’t sure what to do.

My name is Dinara. I am from Uzbekistan. I would like to share our experience with lung surgery for my father at Max Hospital, in Saket Delhi, which was done by Dr.Kamron Ali.

India has always been a country close to our hearts. Since childhood, we’ve watched Indian films, listened to Indian music, and admired Indian actors. We’ve also heard many stories about the excellent medical care in India, particularly the skill and success of Indian doctors.
When our family was faced with a serious challenge — my father was diagnosed with a lung tumor — we decided to seek treatment in India. On the recommendation of friends who had received care there, we went to Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket, Delhi.

One of the first things we appreciated was multiprofile and large size of the hospital. It is well-equipped with the latest medical technologies and staffed by doctors from various specialties, many of whom hold international certifications and have extensive experience.
After a comprehensive series of tests, doctors suggested us two treatment options: radiotherapy or surgery to remove a part of the lung. Surgery was considered the preferred method. However, my father is 75 years old and has several underlying health conditions, so we were naturally concerned about the risks.

Dr. Kamran Ali, a thoracic and lung transplant surgeon, who was our primary doctor, based on the test results told us that my father was fit for surgery. He explained that age alone should not be a limiting factor — what matters most is the condition of the lungs, heart, and overall health. He also shared that he had successfully performed similar surgeries on patients in their 70s and 80s. His calm confidence and clear expertise gave us the reassurance we needed to proceed.

We were informed about possible complications but were also told that the medical team was well-prepared to manage them. The surgery lasted seven hours and was successful. Although there was a chance the entire lung would need to be removed, Dr.Kamran Ali managed to preserve part of it.
The postoperative period was also critical for recovery. My father spent the first few days in intensive care, under close observation. A team of doctors consisting of surgeon, pulmonologist, cardiologist, physiotherapist and others worked with him daily to restore respiratory function. This active rehabilitation made a big difference.

We also valued communication with Dr. Kamran Ali throughout the entire process. He always provided answers to questions and explain the situation in detail, both before and after the surgery.
Ten days after the operation, my father had recovered enough to be discharged and go home.
Cancer is a global challenge that transcends borders. Every individual recovery is a victory for all of humanity — a sign that mankind is making progress in the fight against this disease.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Kamron Ali, for his high professionalism, skill and dedication to his work, and most importantly, we are grateful to the doctor for curing my father.

Decortication Surgery at Max Super speciality Saket -Truly life changing !

I lately underwent successful decortication surgery at Max Super speciality hospital Saket under the care of Dr Kamran Ali – best thoracic surgery, and I’m beyond thankful and grateful. My mother was diagnosed with TB in 2022, which eventually got cured. However as a side effect, she suffered from hemoptysis( blood in cough) She would bleed cough for months continuously. It was then we consulted Dr. Kamran Ali. The upper lobe of her right lung was completely infected with fungal ball. The surgery was successfully done through VATS Lobectomy .
